War of the Worlds, Justin Chatwin and Kjwan
I'll keep this short and with a number of run-ons.
Today I saw War Of The Worlds with a couple of friends. Steven Spielberg, of course, is as GREAT as ever with this movie. He is able to convey fear with robots and aliens much more effectively than any other more "probable" and more "natural" disaster movie, like aliens and blood-hungry robots are more probable than the world freezing for a couple of days.
Tom Cruise, even though he seems too "crazy (in love?)" at the moment is still a very, very good actor. I still like him for his acting no matter what other people say. So is Dakota Fanning, who I noticed talks like an adult. Man, she can act. Justin Chatwin was cute in certain angles and resembled Danny (McFly) from a side view. He was actually able to carry his part, so props to him. Watch War of the Worlds. You must.
Waited to get into the freshman concert in UP for one hour. Wasn't really waiting in line. Until we saw Faye who let us cut in. Trashers outside the concert induced some sort of fear. Heard Kjwan play live. Which was enough. After that, I already left the event with Faye. We were the only ones jumping and moving and all in the area we were in. I mean, come on. The group of girls in front of us must have only come for Mojofly, Six Cycle Mind (is that the band name?), Spongecola, etc.
It was actually pretty funny because as we went down from the cafe on the second floor (the "backstage" is around that area too) I saw a dude for the next performance coming down (who happens to be the guitarist for Kjwan). And then when I turned back to see if Remika and Faye were following me down the stairs I recognized Marc Abaya was the guy who came up rushing. Apparently, the both of them, who were standing beside him while looking around aimlessly for Ange were the ones who didn't notice him.
After that incident I did confirm my personal theory that I'm not really big on meeting band people and celebs. I hear them live, see them play, that's enough. If I see them up close or be within 1 foot of them? Ok, that's really cool but I don't, or rather, can't seem to dwell on it much. Well it's a different thing when it's someone you really idolize, look up to or someone you have or have had an obsession with, I guess. Like... hmm, I dunno. Brad Pitt? Danny? Drew Fuller? Steven Spielberg? Zahi Hawass? Nyahaha.
Anyway, Kjwan put up a really good short set. Who am I kidding? They were great. Bass was really groovy as usual. I don't know why the crowd jumped more to Six Cycle Mind than Kjwan (not that I don't like Six Cycle, actually I don't nyahaha... I just think Kjwan induces more moving around.) But they did cheer when Kjwan was announced to perform next. Oh well, "crowd" preference I guess. Anyway, more power to pinoy rock. I've been thinking since late last year that it's actually going somewhere forward now. But the good stuff have just started to arrive. If you think you're good enough to be a part of this turn around/revival/whatever, then please make yourself heard. If not, please... stay in your garages and try your stuff with the internet audience first.
Is this short?

er.. Kjwan said they make "party music that the girls can dance around". maybe that explains what you said hehe. 6 Cycle mind seems like April Boy going rock haha.
Well, celebrities are still people, only with different lives. So I think all the hype with the autographs and all are just for people who think they're gods or something hehe. (can't articulate) But then if I see Ji Hyun in person I'm gonna faint. Well that's a different story.
wow special mention ako... 8P
damn, I saw WotW last night. It was pretty overrated or overhyped if you ask me hehe. But it seems logical actually hehe
WotW's ending is pretty bland and disappointing. Well, that book's like that. But I do think that Steven Spielberg's imagery and visual retelling of the story's good. (Funny how Justin Chatwin is always wide-eyed with mouth hanging half open ever since the "aliens" attacked hahahaha)
Yeah, like I said. Obsessions, idolized, etc people belong to a different story.
Nagmukhang tao nga pala vocalist ng six cycle mind... akala ko pinalitan nila vocalist nila. nagpagupit lang pala. HAHAHA
no, it's not short. see my blog. now THAT'S short. - faye
It took me fifteen minutes to figure out what WotW is..hahahaha... I love Marc Abaya...He kissed meee haha On the cheek haha
-ayisse-too-lazy-to-fill-up-the-identity-thingies
well.. WotW.. hm.. Oh yes.
It's supposedly a citywide blackout when the aliens came with their EMPs right? Why is it that a camera's recording the whole thing? hehe got that from iMdB.com.
6CM's vocalist looks like April Boy. He looks like a kanto-boy when he has short hair haha.
