Thrilled

Why? Because National Geographic Channel is better than ever.

First, they come up with the series Interpol Investigates. And then this week is their Pharao's week. Next, they are finally airing The Mafia series on July. I read about it on that pop-up Yahoo news when you log-in to YM and thought they're probably gonna show it here late. And voila. I saw the commercial. And it's going to be based on reality and facts, not just about Mafia myths. NG is great like that, they're brave enough to explore what's going on inside the Mafia.

Which points me to a side-tracked story: My aunt mentioned that she had a friend, when she was in NYC, that belonged to a Mafia family. Her friend's now in charge of debts and making people pay. I smell loan sharking. Nyahaha.

Me: What does he do? Like, tell the person with the debt that he's gonna blow his head off if he doesn't pay?
Aunt: Maybe, I don't really know.

Back to preaching... They are coming up with the Genographic Project. You order in a kit, swipe the cotton bud that comes with the kit inside your cheeks for cheek cells, and then send it back. They're gonna furnish you with data of where your ancestors came from. And then, at the same time, they're trying to map possible connections and relations between people all over the Earth who join the project. Visit this page for more details: NGC Genographic Project.

Lastly, I saw the commercial for Sony In Focus. You send in a reason of why you think they should take you to Mumbai with Jeff Hutchens to take pictures and try out all sorts of Sony digital video and still cameras. You also get the chance to win a Sony digicam as well. And, for something more feasible if you do get chosen, you get to be part of an NG TV shoot. Nyahahaha. You just have to submit a photo or a video you made to showcase your talent. Read for yourself at: NG/Sony InFocus contest. Well if I don't get chosen, which is very probable since there is an 18 and above age limit, I can't even join... meh. I can always go there myself next time :p I just realized I will be working and earning money just to get by everyday and future necessary expenses and to travel. I still want to join badly though...

Oh well, there's another contest sponsored by NG and Malaysia Airlines anyway. It's a win a trip kind of thing to Amalfi Coast, Italy; Jaipur, India; or Milford Sound, New Zealand. I just joined. Hey, hey.
