Last night, she said
I've been using song phrases for a while now as titles. Anyway...
Came home late the past 2 nights. Monday, Daye and I watched ICU Bed #7. We were supposed to watch Big Time yesterday but I had to go to a USC Volcorps meeting at 5:30 and the movie starts at 5. This week is proving to be hectic because of the student council's Arts and Culture week. Wondrously, I still remain neutral despite the overall Oust-Gloria atmosphere inside the USC office. Or I may just be a closet Pro-Gloria. What I've been pondering is, am I the only one in the university student council? It's just too bad that the day I went in for the orientation was the day the USC had united in and broadcasted to the rest of the Philippines their stand: to force Gloria to step down.
Today though I have PE from 1-3 again and a Cinema as Art Movement meeting at 4. It's another org I'm applying to. It's basically an org for film enthusiasts, film makers and/or people who are alarmed by the state of the country's movie industry. That's actually the org requiring us to watch 3 Cinemalaya films. I'd gladly watch the Cinemalaya film entries even without their requiring anyway. Although the USC commitments have been proving themselves a bit hectic to squeeze in watching movies. I guess I just have to drop some USC volunteer activities.
As for UP Optics, the Photography Society, they have finally emerged from the murky depths of whatever and have put up a sign-up booth along the AS Walk (near Pav 1). If you are interested, go there and sign up. Orientation will be on July 27 at their tambayan, which is behind the Office of Student Affairs (which is the annex "building" in Vinzon's Hall).
Well, as you may have noticed already, this is a huge plug of a post endorsing different UPd orgs. Haha While I'm at it I'm plugging a couple of stuff for the rest of the week as well...
Thursday
Concert at AS Steps or FC. USC's Cultural Night, which is a part of the Art for Ousts sake arts and culture week. Some of the bands I know that are coming are: Radioactive Sago Project, Datu's Tribe, The Brew, Death By Tampon, Slow Dive, and some other UP bands and performers (like UP Chorus and Kontra-Gapi.)
And of course, the Cinemalaya films. They're showing Ang Pagdadalaga in Maximo Oliveros at 5:00pm and, I'm not too sure but I think, Pepot Artista at 7pm?
Friday
University-wide assembly for those who are all for ousting PGMA. They are encouraging the whole university to come in order to see and have the school congregating as one against Gloria. Be at the Sunken Garden at around 10am. It will be organized into colleges. I'm not too sure if I'm joining this one, given my lack of a definitive political opinion about the nation's current state.
MTV Campus Tour, Bahay ng Alumni in afternoon-evening. A couple of friends and I are crossing our fingers that John Joe would be there. Nyahaha.
And Cinemalaya film of course: Lasponggols, with Epy Quizon, at 7:30pm.

Will post pictures later.

haynako... f u msspl my name agen il join d actvsts!
Fey. OMG I misspelled your name. You can now join the activists.
Hahahaha
O? Umiyak. Wow ha. Well some activists went to class and they talked about replacing the government with a parliament-like set up. Well GMA now wants to change the gov into parliament. Oh well. OH well. Yuki wants to use the comp.
haynako AN. hahahaha
anak nang, nasa lasponggols si epy? nood tayo. heheheh :D
Di na tayo nakanood hahaha. San kaya makakahanap ng pirated copy (eh hello, san naman kasi kaya binebenta yun eh no?)
Ann hindi AN haha. (Kung tinatawag mo ko.)
bumabawi lang. hahahahaha
Just because Epy's in lasponggols doesn't mean it is a great mind-blowing movie. Or maybe it does. You do realize this art film thing is the new bandwagon? (Yes i am craptastically anti-fad forever)
Yeah. But if you're an Epy fan like SOME people are. Well it's worth watching. Like how I watched Day Before TOmorrow (aside from it's a disaster movie, which I stupidly watch, Jake Gyllenhaal's in there. Okay, enough of my fangirling.)
Lasponggols did garner some awards I think. Frakly ICU Bed #7 was not very satisfying in terms of cinematography quality. Kaya nakakapagalangan din manood ng ibang indie films here. Well, malay ko ba kung style lang yung overall feel and camera shots nun.... Sabi nga ni Peque Gallaga, sloppy ang indie film industry dito.
Wait... you do realize that the flip flops thing is a fad. And Ukay became a fad. But you're still continuing with it hahahaha ;)
Well, ukay and flip flops arent fads with me. Like, I'm not rich enough to buy stupidly expensive tuberculosis-prone clothes, and flip flops are as comfortable as hell.
..You can tell really if people keep saying they want to go to ukay but you know they won't coz they're too prissy or etc. And you can also tell if they only buy Havaianas. Haha. XD
...oh and I think the best way to be an indie film supporter is to start with international indie films. Then make your own. Then that's the time you take a look at the local scene. Because I think it stunts people to see how far the local scene has gone.
hey, i go to ukay and have havaianas. how's that? hahahaha
Yeah. Agreed man. I don't think the indie film here is mind blowing. :( Well, we have money problems to deal with, but still. YOu can do a lot of editing to bring out the colors and all, right? Adobe. Nyahaha
I still don't get why the hell Havaianas are expensive. You dish out a lot of Ps for something you can buy for P50 or even less. (Okay, some might argue that it's of high quality, etc... I think it's pretty similar in quality to somethign you can buy for a hundred. But I don't know. I don't own havaianas. The plain colored ones look pretty plain and unspecial to be expensive for me. Too plain.)
haha, havaianas are more durable DAW. haha, i dunno, its like an investment for me. i can use it until im like 30. hahaha
Old Navy slippers cost like 100php and they look a lot better than havaianas. And they're more durable. What's so nice about engraved flowery things? It's panget. haha
Really, Old Navy slippers cost P100 = approx. $2? Too cheap to be true.
