Deranged teenies
I just remembered that Billy Mohler(sp?), ex-bassist of The Calling, is afraid of teeny boppers.
So yeah... I'm out of things to do once again so I popped in McFly in Google Pilipinas search just to see which filipino sites have mentioned them so far (The UK band, not Marty McFly). And to my horror, a certain MSN group for McFly fans appeared (now invaded by kids from UK and the world over) it has one of the most horrible forums. Ever. See for yourself by clicking this.
This is the horrifying thing about liking a british pop band. You get associated with all these hyperactive, shortcut typing, deranged teenybopper fans. I'm teenybopperish. Their the real thing. But meh...
It's easily evident that they are merely physically attracted to these lads. In fairness to the band, they do have talent and that's why I mainly listen to them (honest). I seriously think they have the potential to grow into a better band, leaning towards rock more than towards pop. As I said in a previous related post, they just have to outgrow the lame song themes and lyric work. They've got interesting riffs that not just anybody can play. I believe it requires a certain level of proficiency in guitar (hmm... why have I not checked the riffs before). Some may say "Meh... it's not that hard." Well I'm not saying they're hard I'm just saying at least they don't just strum power chords into pop-punkness. And the bass is not your redundant, same old root notes. Maybe we can owe all this to the fact that they're '60s inspired.
Anyway, enough about all this reasoning. I have finally looked at some tabs and...
Some of the riffs are easy and the others are something that would probably take more than one pass at (I mean, a series of pull offs, hammer ons, bends... but something maneagale for me with some practice). Unless, of course, you are Mr. Guitar God and happen to worship technical difficulties, which provides you with the gauge for rating how you like a song, you can dismiss them as one of those bands you can chuck in the trash bin.
What I really wanted to say in this thread was: That was a horrifying forum back there, and that I'm getting my hair cut tomorrow. Finally.
