I FOUND MY WALLET!
Actually, the librarian at the Anthropology Library found it on the floor in the same level as the library. I was thinking before this that perhaps the librarian found the wallet, but it was more of a fancy you know, I never thought...

Anyway, I am reunited with my lovely wallet. Such a bummer though that I've already replaced most of the IDs in it and had to pay 530 pesos for everything. I actually just got a new school ID today.. Well I didn't know I was going to get my wallet back this afternoon so yeah.

Ok so there's this Starbucks year planner promo, I don't know if they have it in other countries. Basically you get a card you have to fill with 21 stickers (21 drinks) and then you get their enormous heavy planner for free. Now it's really just a bonus for you if you drink there alot but many people flock to Starbucks here during the Christmas season just so they can get the planner. So it's kind of like buying a Php3000 planner and getting 21 free drinks along the way.

Anyway my point is I've conned my sister into paying for half the price of every drink I buy. I'm not interested in the planner but I'm the one who buys the drinks. So for every drink I buy, I get a sticker, and she pays for half of my drink. Hmm I think it's quite brilliant. Until she realizes that it's not very fair... But I doubt that's going to dawn on her anytime soon :evil:

I don't buy at Starbucks lately though cos I mostly consume hot drinks. Even though I don't have a highly sophisticated espresso machine at home or something, I'm content with their beans and my cheap coffee maker with reuseable coffee filter (those reuseable filters may not be as efficient but they're awesome for me nonetheless). It's much cheaper that way. In fact I'm thinking of just buying a bottle of orange/valencia syrup so I don't have to order orange mochaccinos there anymore. Brewed coffee + orange syrup. I'm easily pleased.

The orange mocha frappucinnos (yeah, Ross O'Caroll-Kelley roysh!!) are a bit of a problem though, I don't know how I'm going to achieve that at home. I might need an electric ice shaver or something for the ice.

But then again what do I do with the money I save from drinking coffee at home? Use it again to buy coffee or tea outside probably. I have this mentality about why save ridiculous amounts of money when there's nothing in particular that you are saving up for. I mean, just spend the money. This half-unhinged from capitalism mentality should be a convenient reason to blame should I end up bankrupt in the future. (But overspending is another issue so...)

But I'm not one to save for, say, an iBook or a nice mp3 player (I want a Zune :() cos at this point in time I'll just get bored stashing away money for that... it will take a loooooong time. A trip to Singapore is very doable though. I'm thinking whether I should buy tickets now and use it on February (It will only cost me Php288 w/o tax one way!). Dunno what I'll do there though. Just visit Dixi perhaps hahaha.

Wallet! Casino Royale! Densha Otoko!

My wallet is still missing. No call today from whoever might have picked it up. It's cute and all in brown leather with a print of fcking southeast asia :( Try googling Alviero Martini wallets if you want to get an idea on how it looks like. Well anyway I hope to see it at the lost and found office on Monday. Meaning I'd have to trek over to uni when I don't have classes. I should be thankful though that that building has a lost and found office. I'm pretty hopeful I'll find it since it didn't have any money in it... despite that it's a wallet, I know, I know, so odd that I kept all my money in my pants' pockets that day.

You know what, I've been thinking too. Whoever got it can keep the wallet, I just hope s/he surrenders all my IDs and form 5s to the lost and found office. I MEAN HELLO WHAT USE WILL IT BE? Please don't throw them away (O_O')

So yes, I just came to blog that I went to see Casino Royale in the theaters earlier this evening. It was... interesting. By the end of the movie it still hasn't dawned on me that Daniel Craig is James Bond. They say in the novels James Bond wasn't meant to be extremely good looking but evs... he's much better on screen good looking hahahaha. My grandmother watched with me and she was like, "He doesn't even make love like all the other James Bonds did." HAHA He looked a bit of like a gangster. Well scratch that, not really. But you know, not as suave as the other Bonds. Might have something to do with that in the story, James was newly promoted, starting out as a double 0. Not that it's purely looks you know but I figured if they got Brad Pitt to play James Bond for some weird reason, it'd seem... weird, because he's not Bond material.

I thought Eva Green was pretty though :D Well Daniel Craig did good acting anyway and he actually did portray the Bond role. We may all just be having a Pierce Brosnan backlash here. Chris Cornell wrote the opening song btw! (Really cool opening sequence with the animation and all.)

Well there, that and I had a marathon of Densha Otoko episodes 1-4. Everybody download it on torrent!!! It's an awesome series and it's really funny. I still have a sore throat but I still kept laughing through out. If you want the torrents I can email them to you. Or you can go watch it on You Tube. It's much better if you dl it tho, of course.

I'm telling you people it's a cool song :( It's up there with Emiliana Torrini's Heartstopper, Interpol's Evil and a bunch of Oasis songs in my top top favourites list. Like the title is not literal and you don't find it mentioned anywhere in the song... Hoh is this a first for Mcfly?! Hahaha Although half the song goes like, 'I think I'm gonna lose it, lose it, lose it.'

Okay I killed it again with my you-will-never-outgrow-it-and-no-it-is-not-a-mere-phase british pop band ranting. Uh evs am, evs.

But I swear, it's an enjoyable song. I am not lying nor am I clouded by my fangirling... Or so I think. I mean I wouldn't be able to help it if there's this drum beat I like and Danny sings for the most part of the song and he has an awesome voice. And there's a nice lead all through out.

Hay Dixi we will remain the only two people who will enjoy driving around or riding the bus while listening to their songs.

Speaking of losing it I lost my wallet in school yesterday afternoon because of short term memory loss. It doesn't have any money in it cos weirdly, all my money were inside my pockets. But it does contain all my IDs. Thus now I am identityless except for my passport which is obviously not convenient to carry around in your home country.

And I lost it at the worst possible time. At around 4:10 in the AFTERNOON on a FRIDAY. I hope a student stumbled upon it though and is going to return it on like, Monday. Cos I'd be devastated about losing my Alviero Martini wallet, I'mmaterialisticlikethat. Plus it'd be a hassle to go through trying to get a copy of my form 5 (though I have a photocopy of it thankfully), school id and gym id. I don't care about my driver's license. haha

Sweet dreams, good morning

I want to watch a movie that will use Lostprophet's cover of the song Sweet Dreams My LA Ex. Hahaha I dunno, I just want to watch one. I am in need of brainless enjoyable movie-watching. I'll probably catch The Covenant this Wednesday with some friends. Cue: more laughter.

Well school started last Friday for me. I only need to go to school three times a week. I need something else to preoccupy me... or else I will end up spending a massive amount of money on books and coffee. Again. Or people, you can just donate me your good books you know.

Thoughts on a friday morning

It's about realizing you're not sleeping in the same bed that night. And dealing with the uprooted feelings that come with that thought. It's about waking up the next morning and wondering what new things you'll see that day. And at the same time it's about realizing the similarities between where you are now and what you've left behind. Sometimes you feel like you're just in another parallel universe where the people look different, speak different but think alike. Sometimes you just end up emphasizing how alien everything is; or rather, how alien you are. More often than not it's always the first one though. We're self-contained worlds, walking amidst other worlds. We're one-man universes filled with stars and satellites, rocks in orbit and rocks lost to other gravities, and white dwarfs and black holes.

Hanoi, the morning after a long ride back home with Muse's Starlight on repeat inside my head.

And now we're back in the atmosphere

Arrived back home this noon. Unpacked and have been bumming online checking mail and some blogs I didn't have time for. Talked to Remskeedoo and watched Project Runway. Another thing I love about travelling is that there doesn't really seem to be a real transition between being in another place and being back home. Like, one time you're somewhere with street signs you don't understand and next thing you know you're on the MRT/train back to your house and nobody has an idea what you've just been through. (I'm cheap so I commute it home instead of getting a taxi that tries to charge you a fixed rate that's double the metered rate.) And the plane ride doesn't seem to serve as a transition... It just seems to serve as a moment to gather your thoughts and rest hahaha.

And since I'm such a fangirl these two posts may well equal climbing ruins around the Angkor Wat complex hahaha
